A journey from Medical Sales to District Sales Manager

Hi, my name is Kyoo-Lee Michielsens and I’ve been working for QuintilesIMS since 2011.

I began my journey as an employer in a syndicated team, nowadays referred to as a ‘Go-to-Target Team’. In this team we simultaneously work on several varying projects for different pharmaceutical companies. As a result of this I have learned a lot about different pathologies such as: diabetes, osteoporosis, copd…

After 5 years of employment in a Go-to-Target team I switched positions to a dedicated team. In this team we are employed by one specific pharmaceutical customer. This consequently gives you a much better insight in the work of a pharmaceutical company as you are more closely involved in the marketing and sales strategy of the customer. To succeed, a good collaboration with your colleagues in the same region is key.

Since I’ve started working for QuintilesIMS, I have experienced a positive and rewarding evolution. I always dreamt of a position as District Sales Manager. During the spring of 2017 a DSM position became vacant and I applied. As a result, on the first of September I became the new DSM of a great team.
