The QuintilesIMS creative team are seeking a talented Art Director to work within their Site Patient Network studio. The Art Director will be responsible for direct-to-patient communications, specifically in the branding of clinical trials. Day-to-day, the Art Director will be expected to brainstorm ideas for patient engagement, and deliver highly creative, conceptual campaigns to inspire patients to sign-up for a clinical study. Every clinical study brand is original and unique and created from scratch – so there is lots of scope for creativity, without the constraints of branding guidelines to hold you back.

Successful candidates will have a proven track record in creating conceptual branding, creative visuals, client presentations and creative guidance for the design team ideally with a background in creative advertising along with being a heavyweight in Adobe creative cloud – InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Experience in healthcare communications would be an advantage, but not essential – we want somebody who cares passionately about their audience, and is able to channel that passion into the work they produce.


• Meet with clients and various internal stakeholders to analyse needs, determine objectives and form a communication strategy
• Act as “Company Expert” on all style matters ensuring that our visual output is flawless.
• Confer with creative, copywriting, or production department heads to discuss stakeholder requirements and presentation concepts, and to coordinate creative activities.
• Manage the scope of work, objectives, and quality of deliverables to ensure an efficient execution of projects and creative campaigns.
• Maintain knowledge and awareness of latest market trends, needs, and best practices.
• Provide creative advice/consultancy across the company in areas of expertise. Guide graphic designers, production, and other stakeholders to offer input and support on creative concepts.
• Provide direction, support and troubleshooting for department to ensure successful project delivery. Monitor procedures/processes to ensure Creative Department operates at maximum efficiency.
• Estimate creative hours for budgets/assist in developing standard hours templates, and deliver projects in accordance with budgeted hours and agreed deadlines.
• Facilitate relationship between Creative and other departments to ensure effective communication between teams.

• Proven conceptual creative design and branding experience within advertising, ideally with some Healthcare experience but not essential
• Knowledge of current Adobe Suite applications (InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator.
• Ability to define and solve complex communication problems through visual representation/interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Excellent eye for detail.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
• Ability to work to tight timelines, and collaborate with colleagues to meet team deadlines.

• Commercial focus and financial awareness/ability to provide accurate hours estimates.
• Proactive approach to strengthening Creative team.
• Full eligibility to work full-time in the UK
• Bachelors degree in a field related to art or graphic design with relevant industry experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
